Before we gave our hearts to Christ, our thinking was influenced by the world. Now that we belong to God, Holy Spirit gives unto us God’s thoughts. According to 1 Corinthians 2:16, we have been given the mind of Christ! This means we have access to God’s counsel, thoughts, and feelings.

1 Corinthians 2:16 AMPC For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.

Although we have been given the mind of Christ, we still decide which thoughts we allow to dominate our minds and influence our decisions. For example, when we are faced with trials in life, Holy Spirit will provide us with God’s thoughts concerning the matter but our mind may also provide us with a worldly perspective. This worldly perspective is a way of thinking that has not yet been renewed by God’s Word. The way of thinking that you give the most attention to will have an impact on the choices you make. My prayer is that you will reject the worldly way of thinking and give more attention to God’s Word and benefit by obtaining His precious promises.

Philippians 4:8 AMP Finally, [a]believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].

Prayer for the Journey

God, thank you for your Word. It is by your Word that my mind is renewed. Help me to accept your way of thinking and reject any worldly thought that arises in my mind. I know that when I think in alignment with Christ, I will see your purposes and plans fulfilled in my life. Lord, today I fix my thoughts on the hope found in your Word. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Romans 3: 23-26 NLT 23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.

God’s love for us provided the means by which not only are our sins forgiven but also eliminated. He did this legally by making Jesus a ransom! A ransom is the price that is paid to redeem or liberate one from the misery and penalty of sin. We are “released by ransom” from sin because of our belief in Jesus!

God no longer deals with you as a sinner. This means, through Christ, He is now able to pour out His unrestrained love upon you. He doesn’t withhold His goodness from you because you miss the mark! I know for some this may be difficult to accept but remember God’s grace (the UNMERITED goodness of God) made this available through Jesus and we will only reap the benefits of it when we have the appropriate correspondence. The appropriate correspondence is belief! The day you gave your heart to Christ, you became the “Righteousness of God” and are no longer a sinner.

When I first begin to hear about grace, it just seemed too good to be true. My mind would be consumed with this question: how will God deal with my sin as a believer? Here is the answer in case you too are thinking the same. He has dealt with your sin once and for all through the body of Jesus (1 Peter 3:18). The penalty has already been paid and you can go on to now live this abundant life.

Prayer for the Journey

God, thank you for sending Jesus as a ransom for me and providing the way to be reconnected back to you. I am convinced that nothing can separate me from your love and goodness, not even sin! You paid the price for my sin so that I may experience your forever abounding and unrestrained love. Help me not to limit your goodness being displayed in my life by feeling that I too have to pay a price for missing the mark. I am reminded that Jesus has already paid the price for me to live this newness of life.

Salvation is a result of grace. “Grace is the unmerited abounding provision of the unrestrained operation of God’s infinite love that comes through Jesus on behalf of man, especially for those who choose to depend on Him” – Creflo Dollar.

By grace, God first allows us to see that we are in darkness (living without dependency on Him) and reveals to us the light (His salvation from the power of Satan). When this revelation occurs, God permits us to choose between life (salvation that yields the blessing) and death (damnation that yields the curse).

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NLT “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”

When your eyes have been enlightened to this glorious gospel, it requires your faith for it to be in operation in your life. It is through faith, your belief in what Jesus did through His death, burial, resurrection, and seating at the right hand of the Father that allows you to lay hold of all that grace has provided through salvation. -GRACE MADE SALVATION AVAILABLE AND YOUR FAITH TAKES IT!-

Ephesians 2:8 KJ For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Now, with salvation being in operation in your life, you can go on to do the good works that God has predestined for you to walk in.

Ephesians 2:10 NLT For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Prayer for the Journey

Thank you, God, for saving me. Thank you for opening my eyes to the fact that I was in darkness. It is through my belief alone and not works that I enter into the light. Now father as I am forever in a relationship with you, help me do your will.

In Jesus Name, Amen!
